Paul Damiano is a dancer, performer and choreographer born and raised in Kenya. He is rooted in the street styles Afro House and Krump. His earlier beginnings started with choreography back in Nairobi Kenya, where he was the leader of the dance Crew D.I.C.E. 2022 he relocated to Germany to follow his dream to dance and to choreograph full time. In his artistic work, he works autobiographical, where he embodies his past and what it means to him growing up in Nairobi. Through his work and dance he finds a way to remember and cheer for the simplicity of life as a child and a young adult, connecting to his roots. In the past years, he taught at different dance schools such as JC Academy Düsseldorf, Line Up Dance Art in Cologne and Urban Art Complex in Wuppertal. In 2023 he started tapping into the world of theatre stages and produced his first Solo- piece “Haba na Haba” funded by NRW Landesbüro freie darstellende Künste NRW which he performed during diverse festivals within Germany. He was invited twice to represent his style Afrohouse during Redbull Dance Your Style in 2023 and 2024. In 2024 he judged various battles such as Afroheat Battle during Summer Week and won the Bar Battle at Theater Oberhausen. 2024 he was part of a residency at Quartier am Hafen in Cologne and the dance research project “Outcast radically real”.
